A Great Game to Play!

I want to introduce you to a wonderful new game that I have been playing for the past few days. It has shifted something in me and I am filled with joy and happiness and love since I began playing this game.

Start by saying something positive about yourself: "I am magnificent!"

Next, say something else wonderful about yourself: "I am perfect, just as I am."

Now combine the two: "The magnificence of my perfection is exceeded only by the perfection of my magnificence!"

Finally, stroke your chin thoughtfully like a college professor and say, "Hmmmmmm" in a happily wondering sort of way.

Doing this will fill you with glee and joy and happiness just to be alive. There is something about the combination of the two positive things in that way that just makes the whole game something special.

Let's try it again.

I am beautiful.

I am radiant.

The radiance of my beauty is exceeded only by the beauty of my radiance. YES!!!!! Hmmmmmmm.

Don't forget the 'Hmmmmmm' part. It's VERY important.

Magnificent, gorgeous, radiant, wonderful Lu signing out.

Hiatus

I just looked it up in my father's big old Oxford Concise. It means, "a break in continuity."

I'm not going to write here for awhile. A hiatus will occur in this blog.

Why? Everything that comes easily, or fairly easily, through words has been covered here in the past months. I've written a great many posts. What is left is amorphous, very new to me, and I'm feeling like I'm feeling my way. I can't really tell you much about it - it's an open space of not minding what happens, of loving the world.

I've said so much in the posts here. Just read back. There's so much there! And I've begun to compile these posts into a text that reads chronologically. If anyone reading this is interested in receiving a copy of this compilation, let me know.

A strange country lies before us. I've always been okay with not knowing where I am exactly, or where I'm going, specifically. I've always enjoyed a good bush-whacking session - scrambling through undergrowth and realizing yet again that there is yet another ridge to scale and cross.

Enjoy the journey.

Energy Flows

I've known for a long time that what we focus on is what we give our energy to. Parents learn this as they struggle with their two-year-olds. What they may not realize is that this is always true.

Even when we oppose something, our focus on opposition gives energy to the thing opposed. "Ignore it and it will go away," my mother used to say. I thought she was being hopelessly passive, hiding her head in the sand, pretending that something distasteful didn't exist so that she could go on with her day without having to think about it. Later in my life, I came simply to prefer giving my attention to what I choose rather than to anything else.

Try this. Begin a statement with the words, "I need..." Feel the energy associated with that. Now, begin a statement with the words, "I will..." And feel how the energy is different. And again, begin a statement with the words, "I oppose..." or "I am against..."  Feel the energy. Now begin a statement with the words, "I support...." or "I encourage...." And feel how the energy is different.

And then multiply that subtle energy shift by every thought and every intention and every person on this planet.

I was thinking about revolution. I believe that the most revolutionary act is the act of encouraging people to educate themselves and giving them the tools to do so. Public libraries are revolutionary... or is it that they are evolutionary?

(And isn't it interesting that these two words are so closely linked etymologically. Only that one letter separates them. To revolve is to refold, to turn something back in on itself. Revolution is a turning and has come to mean a complete reversal of an established order. To evolve is to unfold. Evolution has come to mean the unfolding of all our potentials, the opening up of our true nature through a natural process.)

I encourage evolution. I support the unfolding of all our potentials. I will evolve. And I will do this by looking forward, not back. I will do this by focusing on what I choose to see in the world around me and making that my home. That is where I place my attention and that is where my energy flows.

And you, Co-Creator of the world? Where do you place your attention? Where do you send your energy?

Emergence

Whenever I see the numbers 9:11 on a digital clock, I don't think of ambulances, sirens or that terrible day in 2001. I say to myself one word: Emergence. It is the root word of the more ubiquitous "emergency".

This beautiful word summons up all sorts of connotations for me. It is the emergence of truth from illusion, confusion and obfuscation. It is the emergence of the divine self, the whole self, the vast illimitable soul self from a great story of flesh and bone and hunger. It is the emergence of green growing things after another season of ice and snow here in the north.

After four months of heavy snows and winter rains that froze into hard ice, the forest floor has emerged once again into the clear air and the sunlight. Everything looks squashed, flattened and sodden. The earth here has had a long sleep and is awakening once again. Walking in the woods, slowly and carefully on the wet, slippery ground, I saw already the slender, pointed green fingers of wild garlic taking a stand. Only one day before I walked there, the snow covered the ground where they grew. The yearning of green growing things, the will to BE and to BE and to BE again is so strong that they just couldn't wait, wouldn't wait. I saw daffodils reaching upwards, green and courageous, as well. Where less than a week ago was two feet of snow, the growing season has begun.

And so it is with us. We grow up and out and extend our reach always and forever. There is no end to our urge to meet every potential that is within us, every promise that we have ever made to ourselves. After years and years and lifetimes of waiting and watching and hoping and learning and making do and almost giving up, after such a long hard season of separation from Self, this is our emergence.

This is our emergence. Those who are drawn to my words and who resonate with the messages I compose here are coming into their spring time, no matter their age or situation. New life beckons. New truths emerge. New energy becomes our playground. Our newly integrated divinity shines from our eyes.

Whenever I see the numbers 9:11 on a digital clock, I say one word: Emergence.

Five Attributes of God

Even though so much seems to be new for us these days, you have been here before. In moments of transcendence you have reached this frequency, this awareness. In moments of peace, strung like the rarest jewels on the string of your lifetime, you have known this perfection. In those moments when you were so filled with love for another that you forgot yourself, you have embodied this compassion.

I am reminded of the five attributes of God, as given in Neale Donald Walsch's Conversations With God:  gratitude, appreciation, joy, love and blessing.

There is no need in God. There is no lack in God. There is no fear in God. There is no grievance in God. If it is not gratitude, appreciation, joy, love or blessing; then it is not God. Compassion and honouring are there too - in appreciation is honouring of the other and in love is compassion for the other.

I choose to experience within myself, more and more, these five attributes. When I do, I am in heaven on this Earth.

The energies of the great shift of the ages, the galactic alignment of our Earth and our Sun with the very heart of our galaxy, invites us to this. The quickening of our evolution, as we approach the gateway of December, 2012, invites us to this. The Christ consciousness that now permeates our world, what I have taken to calling the Second Coming of Christ, invites us to this.

And just as a side note here - we are not the passive recipients of these energies and invitations. We created the 2012 gateway. We bring in the Christ consciousness. We embody it. We take in the energies pouring into our sphere through the solar winds; we take them in and anchor them in physicality. Then we radiate them to our companions through our smiles, through our love, through our wisdom.

This is not being done to us. We are creating this and we are, more and more, holding this frequency of the five attributes of God within us. As we do this, we are transforming our world.

Take a breath.

Walking This Sacred Earth

Earth can hear you. Earth can feel you. Earth can take in from you all the love for this planet that is in your heart, all the gratitude, all the honouring of its beauty and bounty, its complexity, diversity, resilience.

And right now, this is a good time to give these things to our Earth. This is a good time to walk upon the Earth in reverence, in love, in a profound honouring of this planet. Bring greater balance to our Earth through your appreciation for all that surrounds you.

I do this as I walk. Blessed by quiet beauty, I walk along back roads bordered by trees and mosses, ferns and sprays of blackberry and raspberry. I walk the land as well, heading out into the woods and stretching my legs to clamber over fallen trees and rough ground. And as I walk, I hold a space within me in honour and appreciation of this sacred Earth. And every so often, I stop. I stand still and just feel the world around me.

It doesn't matter whether you walk on a beautiful beach, in a forest, on a track in the desert or on a sidewalk in the city. No matter where you take your walk, you can look for beauty in the world around you. I guarantee that if you look for it, you will find it. There will be so much beauty for you to enjoy that you will not be able to contain your gratitude. You will find yourself sending it out to God, to the world which embodies God.

As you walk, you will find that you move with the realization that you are walking over sacred ground. You are walking this sacred Earth, and there is nothing better anywhere.

As you fill with love for all that lives around you, all that grows and moves and shines with beauty, you will see more and more that delights you. If you love the world, it will openly show its love to you. Shyly at first, then more and more, it will show you all of its wonders.

Finally, walking this sacred Earth, filled with appreciation for the beauty and perfect grace that surrounds you, you will find that you are in love, moving through love, dwelling in its peace. You will find that you experience a deep sense of unity with all that is and a feeling that you are in heaven, even as you walk here on Earth.

When you give your love to the world, quietly whispering, "I love you!" deep inside yourself, and feeling it with all of your heart, you help to balance the energies of our beloved planet. You give this Earth the energy that helps it to move through this time of restoration and renewal.

Remember, as you walk along, in reverence and in perfect peace, upon the Earth that is our home, to turn and look behind you every once in a while, just to see how far you've come.

It's So Easy!

So what's happening now is that we are being invited to raise our vibration to one of total trust and perfect peace, such that any concerns for our own well-being in three dimensional reality are completely released.

Further, we are being encouraged to bring ourselves into complete compassion, such that any concerns for the well-being of others, or of wildlife, or of the planet are also released. Compassion trusts the process in which the other is engaged, trusts the experience that the other has chosen for himself, or for herself. And we can do this on the level of communities, on the level of nations, on the planetary level, on the level of our solar system, and on the level of our galaxy. Assume that everyone knows what they are doing, that everything that happens is happening for the highest good of all concerned. Your efforts are not required, as has been stated previously here. Your love and, most importantly, your honour for the other, your trust in the other, is much appreciated and will help to move this glorious process along.

I was talking to a friend the other day and mentioned my daily meditation practice, or part of it, wherein I communicate with planet Earth. My friend's enthusiastic response to my disclosure made me think of bringing it here to you. You know how it is when you sit with a troubled friend, a friend who is going through a challenging process, or has to make a difficult decision. You sit with your friend and you look straight into her eyes with all of your love and all of your regard for her showing clearly. And you say, "I know that you will do what is for the highest good in this situation. I trust your inner knowing - that divine part of you that always brings you through. I know that you will come through this and that everything will work out well. I trust your choices, your abilities and your wisdom. I love you and I support you and I honour you." Well, that is essentially what I offer to our planet. I don't assume that our beautiful, strong planet needs healing. I don't assume that there is anything 'wrong.' I don't assume that our planet needs to be saved by somebody, or even by a group of somebodies. I let our planet know that I have every confidence in Her/Him (all of the energies of our planet, both masculine energies and feminine energies are honoured in this offering that I make every morning). It is an offering of regard, of standing by, but not assuming any weakness or need. It is the same offering that I used to make to the children given to my charge when I worked as a school teacher. It is exemplified for me, by the phrase 'level gaze.' I offer to our planet my level gaze.

But that isn't what I wanted to share with you today. What I wanted to share is that it is so easy! Assume that you have everything that you need. Assume that everything that you choose to have will be yours. And then forget about it. Just let it go. Bring your vibration up to that level of trust, of peace, of compassion. And hold it there as much as you can, given the energies of the people and places around you. In trust, there is no fear of lack, no wondering how or when or who. In peace there is no sense of grievance, of lack, of imbalance. In compassion there are no worries for the well-being of others. There is just this sense of totality of completion, this gratitude for the perfection of the Now, this appreciation for ALL that you are and ALL that IS.

More and more you will find that you can hold your vibration there, your feeling, your whole-self. More and more you will come to realize, with a smile on your face that just doesn't seem to want to fade, that you are living in heaven right here, right now and that you really do have all that you need and all that you choose all the time.

Step into that glow, that vibration of just knowing that all is as it should be all the time. It's so easy!

Never So Free

Bruce Cockburn, Canadian singer/songwriter, wrote: "Never so free, I'm lost in the seagull's cry," evocative of a moment free and clear.

You and I are free. We have never been so free.

Released by our own courage and wisdom from our former entanglements of dependency and co-dependency, cleansed by our own breath of all that is not what we consciously choose for ourselves in this moment, we are free in ways that have never been explored by us... until now.

There is nothing that we need to accomplish. Nothing that we need to prove. Nothing that we need to protect or defend ourselves from. Nothing to fear. Nothing to embellish. Nothing to attain or acquire. Nothing to strive for, unless we choose to do so for the experience of the striving itself. There is nothing that we need; we always have plenty to sustain and delight us, to inspire and comfort us.

And in this clear and lovely space, we realize the vast depth and stretch and upward reach that we are.

In this expanse, we feel ourselves to be light and love, exquisite, all-permeating, perfect.

In this Now, we know ourselves as God also. We bring forth the divinity that has always been within us.

And it does not require vast stretches of time for this. No. Time is an illusion. Step away from its well-known imperatives through your breath.

In a single moment - what the clock might call a minute - you can bring yourself into this infinite and eternal space, and it is so vast, so quiet, so perfect in all its nothing and everything, that the moment will fill you as if it were days. Just breathe there. Just breathe.

And that moment becomes another moment, later perhaps.

And that later moment becomes a morning lived in love and light. And that morning then stretches itself out to encompass a whole day of timeless Now being and becoming in perfect peace.

And that day becomes a transformation of what it means to be a human being on planet Earth.

It is that simple. And it is time now for this.

Nobody Needs You

There is nobody who needs you - not really. They might think that they need you. You might think that they need you. You might think that you need them to need you. But they do not need you and you do not need them to need you. You are Whole. You are complete unto yourself. And so is every other person on this planet. Yes, even the children, even the young, the disabled. They are Creators. They are God also. And they do not need you.

So, you are free. And they are free. You are sovereign. They are sovereign.

What is theirs is for them. What is yours is for you.

It is not necessary for you to pave their way, help them, advise them, guide them, save them, steer them, mentor them, befriend them or comfort them. This is not to say that you may not do these things. You may do any or all of these things. If you do, it will be because you have chosen to do these things. It will be yours. It will be for you, the doing of these things. They do not need you to do these things.

It is all about you. It is not about them. For them, it is all about them. It is not about you. Get it?

So, if you are still here on this Earth because your children need you or your aging mother needs you or your devoted spouse needs you, know that you are here under false pretenses. And now is not the time for false pretenses. Be here for yourself. Take responsibility for yourself. Understand that it is yours - your life, your every moment - it is yours. And then do them the honour, the incalculable honour, of letting them take responsibility for themselves, for their experiences - all of them, all of their experiences, no matter what they are.

Let them go.

Free yourself.

And finally, you will come to understand that you are all you have. And this has always been the truth of the matter. You are all you have. It is all about you.

And when you look in the mirror, if you cannot look with the love of God at God's own face, you have more work to do.

It's All About You

In this time of miracle and wonder, this time of change and change and change again, it is all about you. It is for you to release what no longer serves you, for you to love that within yourself which is not yet completely loved. It is your fears, your hunger that needs be tended to now, so that you will know all that you are and all that you are not, so that you will be purified, rendered into a love so sweet and so complete that it knows nothing that is not that love in response.

And there is no danger in this. There is no danger in any of this. You are safe. You are more safe and more loved than ever before. And you are whole, whole inasmuch as you know yourself to be so.

For you, then, the insights and realizations come. For you, the fears are seen, met, held and held and held until they melt away like April snow. For you the tears flow and the peace descends - your tears, your peace - this is all about you.

And there is no saviour here. There is no one here who needs to be saved. There is this human, this divine human, this Self that is so much bigger than what you had thought it could ever be. Look in the mirror, love, it's you - it's been you all along.

Whenever you find yourself thinking that it's all about so-and-so, all about somebody else, take a big breath and remember: It's all about you.

And this is true for each of us. This is true for every human being on the planet. And when we honour ourselves, we teach ourselves, in the quickest way possible, to honour each other. And when we honour each other, we give each other the space and the trust and the light to work our magic, each of us for ourselves, to do what needs to be done within ourselves, to bring ourselves into wholeness.

God is ready for us. Always has been. It is we who do this work now to ready ourselves for God.

And for each one reading this, it is all about you - nowhere to run to - no one to point the finger at or deflect the feeling onto. It is time for this now.

Snow Storm on April First

Breathe and accept and love in a quiet way every little thing for itself, just as it is.

Begin with the total acceptance of your essential aloneness. Not bravery in the face of aloneness. Not accomplishment in dealing with aloneness. Not even convincing yourself that you prefer aloneness. None of those. Acceptance. And it is in this way also that we come to acceptance of pain and illness, loss and endings. Acceptance.

It is very quiet. It is a bit dark. It is not joy, not happiness. Yet, it is absolutely beautiful, lovely in a quiet way, like the white and grey of the snow storm on the first day of April.

It is a bit sad. It accepts sadness. It accepts mourning. It accepts grievance.

It accepts everything with a quiet grace that is lovely beyond all else.

We are asked to embody this. We are asked to become this. It precludes all preference and liking and not liking and comfort and discomfort. It is not resignation, or strength in adversity. By this reckoning, there is no adversity. All is perfect whole being. All is as it should be in the Now.

I walked at dawn in the grey light before the storm. Song birds, always hopeful at this time of the year, sang sweetly and the mountain streams laughed their way downhill. The day was perfect, is perfect. Know your own perfection and realize in this way the perfection of all that surrounds you. When you do this, you do this for the ALL, you do it for every human being on this planet.

As it is within, so will it be without. And as you come to this place of divine acceptance - more even - divine appreciation for all, all, all that you encounter - especially yourself, you will create that divine energy as a flow to all the world.

And in that flow, moving out to all that is in the world, are transformation, becoming, allowance, joy.

All of these are your legacy when you bring love into the world.
